What are Air dunnage bags?
Air dunnage bags (also known as inflatable cargo bags or cargo cushion) are heavy-duty, inflatable bags used to secure and stabilize cargo during transit. They are placed in the empty spaces (voids) between pallets, crates, or machinery inside shipping containers, trucks, boxcars, or cargo ships.
Once positioned, they are inflated with compressed air using a specialized inflator tool.
How do they work?
When inflated, the bags expand to fill the open gaps and lock the load tightly against the walls of the vehicle or adjacent cargo. They protect goods using two main principles:

Friction Stabilization: By putting pressure on the cargo, they increase the friction between the pallets and the floor, keeping them from sliding.

Shock Absorption: They act as a cushion, absorbing the physical shocks, vibrations, and shifts that happen during sudden braking, sharp turns, or rough seas.

By eliminating movement and absorbing kinetic energy, dunnage air bags effectively prevent load collapse, tipping, and impact damage throughout the journey.
